Marcos da Matta (1989) is a visual artist who lives in Cachoeira (BA), where he earned his degree in Visual Arts from UFRB. His research emerges from the everyday life of the Recôncavo region, crossed by religions, informal labor, and collective memories. His works articulate identity and shared experience, exploring how elements of local culture shape both his own trajectory and collective imaginaries.

Na brisa do rio (2022) is a work about labor but, in the artist’s words, “much more about rest, beauty, and the possibility of relaxing in the breeze of a river, even if just for 20 minutes during a lunch break.” It was exhibited at the 19° Salão Nacional de Arte, in Jataí-GO.
