Rodrigo Cass (1983) lives and works in São Paulo. His first artistic training was as an iconographer at Mosteiro da Transfiguração, in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, in 2001. Between 2000 and 2008, he lived in Convento do Carmo as a Carmelite friar of the Order of Carmel. In 2006, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from Faculdade Santa Marcelina, São Paulo, where he studied with artists such as Leda Catunda, Raquel Garbelotti, Arthur Lescher, and Shirley Paes Leme. He also studied philosophy and theology for two years (2007-2008) at Faculdade Jesuíta in Belo Horizonte. After leaving the convent, he participated in Programa Bolsa Pampulha in Belo Horizonte (2010—2011), curated by Ana Paula Cohen, and in PIESP – Programa Independente da Escola São Paulo (2011-2012), directed by Adriano Pedrosa and co-directed by Carla Zacagnini. Since 2014, he has been represented by Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel.
In Super Lovers (2025), two circles can be seen as if in a loving relationship. The gesture between them generates transformation, movement, and a new connection—like in the contact between lover and beloved.
