Raphael Tepedino (1989) is a visual artist based in São Paulo. With a degree in Social Communication, he began his career in the fashion industry, where he worked for 12 years. Today, Tepedino dedicates himself to artistic research, focusing on sculpture and performance. In his studio practice, wax holds a central place. In 2025, he held his first solo exhibition at Kubik Gallery, Portugal.
Repasse (2025) is part of a series of wall-mounted wax sculptures exploring how different types of wax behave within clay molds. The large brown circle occupying most of the piece is a solid block of carnaúba wax, which served as a starting point for the work’s development. Residual clay remains embedded in the sculpture, especially along the sides, revealing traces of the creation process.
