Busca (1988) is a visual artist and researcher based in Salvador, Bahia. He has a master’s degree in creative processes, and is a PhD candidate in theory and history of art. His work investigates the tension between everyday objects and artistic languages, using farce, irony, and performativity to reinvent reality. Co-creator of Circuito de Arte em Boteco (CAB), a project that transforms bars into spaces of artistic experimentation and direct public interaction, Busca explores relationships between labor, economy, and ritual in urban life.
Falso Brilhante (2025) presents a silver ring in which the precious stone is replaced by a crack rock. This simple yet provocative gesture inverts codes of value and desire, transforming a symbol of status into a direct commentary on inequality and the illusions of brilliance that permeate contemporary society.
The work proposes a reflection on what is considered precious, shifting the gaze between luxury and marginality, consumption and survival. In Falso Brilhante, what shines is the abyss between appearance and reality.
