Anna Moreno (1984) is a visual artist based between Barcelona and The Hague. Her work combines film, installation, and collaborative research to explore how past and speculative events continue to shape the present. Drawing from architecture, cinema, and collective memory, she uses cinematic montage to question how narratives are constructed and reimagined.
She has presented solo exhibitions at MACBA, Barcelona (2026), HAUS, Barcelona (2025), and TEA Bienal, Tenerife (2024), and participated in art fairs including Art Brussels, ARCO Madrid, and LOOP Barcelona (2025). Moreno has been an artist-in-residence at Jan Van Eyck Academie (Maastricht), HIAP (Helsinki), and Cittadellarte–Fondazione Pistoletto (Biella). Her work is part of the collections of MACBA, Blueproject Foundation, and Fundación Botín, and has received support from Mondriaan Fonds, Fundación Carasso, and TBA21.
Assombração 1 (2025) is part of Copan Assombrado series, Moreno’s ongoing project on reported apparitions in São Paulo’s Copan building. It explores how architectural space holds memories, frictions and the “ghosts” of modernity. For each site where a sighting was reported, the artist shoots a full 35 mm roll of the same view; in select frames, the witness enters the shot.
The resulting images register a subtle temporal slip, between emptiness and presence, suggesting a flicker in time rather than a stable scene. The pieces present two such moments, offering a poised, intimate counterpoint to the larger film and GIF works developed during her residency at Pivô.
